How to use aveoTSD

Detailed user instructions are included with each aveoTSD anti-snoring device. Encourage patients to READ these instructions to learn about the proper use and care of the device.

Advise patients to run aveoTSD under hot water before each use. This softens the medical-grade silicone and makes it slightly easier to position the device onto the tongue.

Before sleeping with aveoTSD, advise patients to PRACTICE wearing the device while watching TV or reading a book. Getting used to the sensation of the device on the tongue will ensure comfort during sleep.

Most patients experience hypersalivation during the first week of aveoTSD use. Encourage these patients to continue using the device, and remind them this side effect will subside.

Patients who suffer from GERD may fi nd the aveoTSD anti-snoring aid will discolor. This is due to the acidity of the bile that comes from the stomach into the mouth during a nighttime reflux episode. Low pH saliva also causes the aveoTSD medical silicone to discolor, even with a good cleaning regime in place. Advise patients with discolored devices to have a full health check: Acidic saliva is an indication of poor health, and research has shown a strong link between acidic saliva and cancer.

A device that smells after only a few months of use could be an indicator of periodontal disease. Advise these patients to visit their dentist for a routine dental check-up.
